Silica For Your Home has been a family-owned business since 1922, when Matthew Schneider opened a hardware store in Silica, Wisconsin, just northeast of Fond du Lac. His vision was simple: to provide local farmers with a trusted place to shop for their home and farm needs.

In 1949, after returning from World War II, Matthew’s son, Alphonse Schneider, took over the business. Understanding the needs of the local farming community, Alphonse built a culture of exceptional customer service and expanded the store’s offerings to include appliances, lawn and garden equipment, grills, and electronics. It was during this time that he established a core philosophy: We service what we sell.

Over the years, Silica Hardware evolved into Silica For Your Home, expanding to three locations in Fond du Lac, Beaver Dam, and Watertown. Our Fond du Lac location has also grown to include furniture and bedding, further enhancing our commitment to providing quality products for every home.

As we have surpassed 100 years of business and move into the fourth generation of family leadership, our commitment to customer service remains at the heart of everything we do.
