Whether you have a tiny adventurer, a budding artist, a curious scientist, or a kid who just loves to move and play, there is something on this list for you. From sensory-friendly events to outdoor exploration, here is your complete guide to family fun this month.

Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac

The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac is one of our favorite spots for little ones, and this spring they have a fantastic lineup of recurring programs that run through late April. Here is what is on the schedule:

Music Museum and Me

When: Wednesdays at 9:15 AM, 10:15 AM, or 1:00 PM | Fridays at 10:15 AM

Spring Session: March 18 through April 29

Ages: 8 months to 5 years

Cost: Members: $40 | Non-Members: $56

This high-energy class is a total joy for little ones! Kids and their caregivers learn songs, play instruments, and move to music together. It is one of the best ways to introduce your child to the magic of music in a fun, interactive setting.

Inspired Builders

When: Every Wednesday at 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Cost: FREE for Members | Included with Admission

Does your little one love Legos, Duplo blocks, and other creative building toys? This drop-in program is the perfect addition to a Wednesday at the museum. Offered in partnership with the Alliant Energy Foundation.

Little Learners

When: Every Thursday at 9:15 AM or 10:15 AM

Spring Session: March 19 through April 30

Ages: 2 to 5 years

Cost: Members: $40 | Non-Members: $56

This program is designed to spark a love of learning early! Through stories, games, and activities, little learners build school readiness skills and get to socialize with other kids their age.

Science Lab

When: Every Thursday at 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Cost: FREE for Members | Included with Admission

Young scientists get to explore the world through hands-on experiments, microscopes, and the scientific method. This program is offered thanks to funding from The Gnewuch Family Foundation.

Art Explorers

When: Every Friday at 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Cost: FREE for Members | Included with Admission

There is an artist in every child! Art Explorers lets kids explore different tools and techniques to create something beautiful to display at the Museum or bring home. A wonderful Friday morning activity.

The Fond du Lac Public Library is absolutely killing it this April with a full calendar of free and low-cost events for kids of all ages. Here is everything happening this month:

Family Storytime (Recurring)

When: Every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM

Ages: 2 to 5 years (all ages welcome)

Start your week with stories, songs, rhymes, and more designed to build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading. A great weekly routine for families with little ones.

Babies and Books (Recurring)

When: Every Monday at 11:00 AM – 11:35 AM | Through April 27

Ages: 0 to 18 months and their caregivers

Made specifically for your youngest family members, this cozy program features songs, rhymes, books, and relaxed playtime. A beautiful opportunity for babies and caregivers to connect.

Adaptive Storytime

When: First Wednesday of the Month | April 1 at 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM

This new sensory-friendly storytime is such a wonderful addition to the library’s calendar. It includes inclusive activities, a supportive environment, and free play after for social interaction. Open to all ages and abilities.

Mini-Makers’ Market

When: Wednesday, April 1 | All Day

Youth makers will be selling their homemade goods while practicing entrepreneurial skills. If your child wants to participate as a maker, pick up a registration form at the Children’s Desk or print one at home.

Tiny Art Creation Night

When: Thursday, April 2 at 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Kick off the library’s annual tiny art competition by coming in and creating your 4″x4″ canvas masterpiece using free supplies in the Idea Studio. Art will be displayed at the library in May. You can finish at home and return your work by April 30.

Paint-Along with Miss Katie

When: Monday, April 6 at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Ages: 5 to 12 years

Note: Registration required. Opens March 23 at 9 AM. Wear old clothes!

Miss Katie leads kids through creating their very own painted masterpiece. Space is limited, so register early! Caregivers must stay with children under age 8.

LEGO Club

When: Tuesday, April 7 at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Build, create, and show off your skills! All creations will be displayed in the library and entered into a prize drawing for a special LEGO set. A great Tuesday afternoon activity.

Crafty Kids: Bouncing Frog

When: Wednesday, April 8 at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Ages: 4 and up

Hop into spring with a fun bouncing frog paper craft. Crafty Kids is held monthly and is always a hit with the elementary-age crowd.

Rook Club (Chess)

When: Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Chess players of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Experienced players are encouraged to help beginners learn the game. Bring your own set or use one of theirs. Rook Club meets the second Tuesday of every month.

Messy Art!

When: Wednesday, April 15 at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Ages: Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers

Registration: Not required

Back by popular demand! Try lots of fun, messy art while the library handles the cleanup. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. This one is pure joy for little ones.

Maker Monday: Welcome Migrating Birds to Wisconsin

When: Monday, April 20 at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Ages: 7 and up

Get ready to welcome spring birds! Kids will build a birdhouse and bird feeder to attract migrating birds to their backyard. A perfect combination of making and nature learning.

Paws to R.E.A.D.

When: Tuesday, April 28 at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Registration: Not required

Practice reading skills by reading aloud to a trained therapy dog! Dogs are patient, non-judgmental listeners and kids absolutely love it. A wonderful confidence-builder for early readers.

TimberNook is an outdoor, nature-based program that gives kids the gift of unstructured play in the natural world. If your child thrives outside, this is one to bookmark.

Tiny Ones Spring Session

Designed for the youngest adventurers, Tiny Ones is an outdoor creative play program where you and your child explore together. You will also receive ideas for inspiring independent play at home.

DIY Sensory Class Spring 2026 (Recurring)

When: Every other Monday, April 6 through June 6 | 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM

Location: SSM Health Treffert Studios, 231 N. National Ave.

Parents, caregivers, and their children explore new sensory experiences together in this hands-on class. Each week, participants learn about different sensory principles and leave with a permanent sensory project.

When: Tuesday, April 7 | 4:15 PM – 5:30 PM

Limit: 10 participants

A pop-up play experience with rotating themes! Explore dramatic play in the theatre with costumes and props, build with LEGO and blocks, or create in the art room. Structured time that supports social interaction, fine and gross motor skills, and problem-solving.

Belong: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (Sensory-Inclusive Showing)

When: Saturday, April 11 | Arrive 10:10 AM, Showtime 10:30 AM

Location: Odyssey Cinemas and Social, 1131 W. Scott St., Fond du Lac

Limit: 139 guests

A sensory-inclusive movie experience featuring quieter sound and brighter lighting than a standard showing. Guests who need to move around during the film are welcome. Designed for families with neurodivergent individuals or those with sensory needs.

Special Interest Community Group

When: Every Thursday in April (April 9, 16, 23, 30) | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

This ongoing group helps individuals develop areas of talent and special interest in a collaborative setting. Participants explore their passions and work together with support from clinicians and staff to create a group project.

Level Up! Friday Night Program

When: Friday, April 17 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Ages: 8 and up

Limit: 20 participants

The ultimate Friday night for kids! Gaming competitions, arts and crafts, music, LEGO, VR, and kitchen skills in a safe, supportive environment. Designed for youth on the autism spectrum but open to all.

Belong: Sensory Swim

When: Saturday, April 25 | 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

Location: FDL Community Aquatic Center, 100 W. 9th St., Fond du Lac

Limit: 20 participants

Everyone is welcome for a swim or float in a sensory-inclusive environment. Calming music, dimmed lights, and quiet play make for a truly unique and peaceful swimming experience. Pool noodles provided.

Campbellsport Public Library

Just a short drive from Fondy, the Campbellsport Public Library has a warm, community feel and a solid lineup of programming for kids and adults alike this month.

Story Hour (Recurring)

Story Time fun for toddlers and preschoolers, this spring focused on learning basics like colors and the alphabet. A sweet, low-key option for your littlest learners.

Zootopia 2 Free Showing

Catch a free showing of Zootopia 2 at the library. A fun and easy outing for the whole family!

Tai Chi Class (Recurring)

When: Every Monday and Friday at 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM

Tai Chi with Michael Fricki is a gentle, accessible class for all levels. A lovely way to start a Monday or Friday morning.

Book Club

When: Every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Worth the short drive to Sheboygan, Above and Beyond Children’s Museum has a wonderful April lineup with programs for babies through elementary-age kids.

Baby Steps

Hands-on science exploration in the Wonder Workshop. Kids experiment, discover, and ask big questions through guided science activities.

Curious by Nature

Each session of Curious by Nature focuses on a different sensory system, guiding children through touch, movement, sound, and more. Hands-on discovery that builds confidence and an early sense of wonder.

Play for ALL

When: Wednesday, April 8 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

An evening designed to reduce barriers and welcome families who may experience challenges attending during daytime hours. Joyful, inclusive, and open to every child.

Play Time With the Autism Society of WI

When: Thursday, April 17

Join the Autism Society of Wisconsin for a morning of play and sensory exploration. Expect hands-on discovery and a little messiness!

Toddler Time

Ages: 1 to 3 years

A playful art and sensory experience designed just for toddlers. Painting, coloring, creative sensory play, loose parts, and themed books to spark imagination.

Make Music With Me

Cost: FREE, funded by the Prevention Board

A 4-week music series in partnership with Take Note Studio featuring Kindermusik curriculum. Music, movement, storytelling, and play that develop social-emotional skills, motor skills, and a love of music.

Oshkosh Farmers Markets Winter Market
