Georgetown Cleaners // Fond du Lac’s professional Dry Cleaning and Laundromat Specialists

Welcome to Fondy Famous where we spotlight local businesses making a significant impact in their communities. In this article, we’re diving into the story of Georgetown Cleaners, a family-owned business in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, that’s not just cleaning clothes but also making a difference in the community.

The Pelleteer Family Legacy

The Pelleteers are no strangers to the laundry business, having successfully run East Johnson Laundry since early 2020. Located conveniently between Culver’s and McDonald’s on the east side of town, their first venture saw great success, paving the way for their acquisition of Georgetown Cleaners.

“When the previous owners approached us to purchase Georgetown, we jumped at the chance,” Buck explains. The transition of ownership took place on November 24th last year, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Pelleteer family. Since taking over, they have focused on modernizing and expanding the services offered by Georgetown Cleaners.

Modernizing Georgetown Cleaners

One of the first steps in revitalizing Georgetown Cleaners was a complete overhaul of the laundromat facilities. “We replaced all the old machines with new high-efficiency models,” Buck details. The upgrade includes 22-pound machines, 640-pound machines, and even larger 60 and 80-pound machines, catering to a wide range of laundry needs. “With an 80-pound machine, you could wash at least eight baskets of laundry in one go,” he adds, highlighting the convenience these new machines bring to customers.

But the improvements don’t stop at the laundromat. Georgetown Cleaners offers a full range of services, from self-service laundry facilities, now with extended hours, to professional dry cleaning and alterations. “Our pro-department handles everything from dry cleaning to shirt laundering and even feather pillow reticking,” Buck says. The addition of delivery services has been particularly well-received, providing a convenient option for those unable to visit the store.

Community Engagement and Future Plans

Beyond business operations, Buck is passionate about giving back to the community. He proudly continues the “Coats for Kids” drive, a tradition started by the previous owners in partnership with the Salvation Army. “Last year, we cleaned and donated 80 coats,” he shares. This initiative is set to expand, with plans to involve more local businesses in the coming year.

Looking ahead, Buck is excited about the future of Georgetown Cleaners. “We’re planning to extend our route services to the Plamish-Boygan area and continue offering convenient drop-off points for dry cleaning across multiple locations,” he explains. This expansion will make their services accessible to even more customers, reinforcing their commitment to convenience and quality service.
