St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, and if you think you have to head to a big city to celebrate, think again. Fond du Lac County knows how to go green, and there is genuinely so much to do, see, and enjoy right here in our own backyard.
Whether you’re looking for family-friendly fun, a reason to get outside, or just an excuse to wear that shamrock headband you bought at Dreamcatcher’s Corner and never used, Fond du Lac has you covered. Here’s your local guide to a great St. Patrick’s Day.

Start Your Morning with Something Green
We love a coffee shop rocking a green menu.
While several local businesses like FreshFit Cafe are serving up GREEN year round, we’ve noticed a few that have a specific St. Patty’s Day drink menu. Here are a couple we’re excited to try:

Get Outside and Go Green
Lake Winnebago is showing off right now, and the shoreline is a perfect backdrop for a St. Patrick’s Day stroll. Bundle up the kids, bring the dog, and head to Lakeside Park for some fresh air and open space. The park is free, always beautiful, and feels like a little reward for making it through another Wisconsin winter.
If you’re up for a short drive, the Horicon Marsh area offers incredible early spring wildlife viewing. The first migrating birds are starting to show up, and it is one of those experiences that reminds you exactly why people love living in this part of the state.
Head to a Parade
Say what you will, Fond du Lac puts on some great parades, and the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is no exception. This year’s event is back on Saturday, March 14, kicking off at 3:00 PM on Main Street downtown. The route runs from Rees Street south to 2nd Street, a full mile of floats, community organizations, and green everything rolling right through the heart of the city. It is one of the biggest events Fond du Lac puts on all year, and it genuinely earns that reputation.
Bring the kids, find a good corner, and let Fond du Lac do what it does best.

Make a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner with Eden Meat Market
For the most Irish meal you can put together without leaving Wisconsin, head to Eden Meat Market at 305 W Main Street in Eden. This family-owned butcher shop has been around since the 1890s, and it is the real deal: full-service meat counter, award-winning bratwursts, smoked meats, and the kind of quality that keeps people coming back for generations.
We dropped in to see what they had available for St. Patrick’s Day, and WOW were we impressed! Not only are they are your source for corned beef brisket, which you can slow cook with cabbage and potatoes for a completely from-scratch Irish dinner, they also make a corned beef bratwurst loaded with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese that is honestly a Wisconsin-Irish mashup worth celebrating.
If you want to make it easy, they also carry a corned beef hash made with their own coarse-ground corned beef, hashbrowns, green peppers, and onions. Eden even offers home delivery to the Fond du Lac area Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, which makes stocking up even easier.

Dress Up, Show Up, and Celebrate
One of the best things about a small community like ours is that showing up actually matters. Local events, community gatherings, and school celebrations all depend on people from right here deciding to participate. So dig out the green, drag the family out the door, and go celebrate.
St. Patrick’s Day is a great reminder that you don’t need to go somewhere else to have a good time. Everything you need is already here in Fond du Lac County.
