A Slice of Lavender Heaven: The Story Behind Dewdrop Farm

In a world often marked by hurry, noise, and endless demands, there’s a quiet corner of the Midwest where time slows down and nature takes center stage. Nestled just outside of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Dewdrop Farm is the beautiful result of two lives converging—lives that took long and winding paths before planting roots in lavender.
Jennifer’s story begins in Singapore, a bustling island nation just one degree north of the equator. With a population density that rivals the most crowded cities in the world, life in Singapore was fast-paced and full. But in her thirties, Jennifer found herself craving something different—something quieter. What was meant to be a short escape to the mountains of Colorado became a permanent shift in lifestyle. She traded high-rises for horizon lines, concrete for pine trees. Now, more than two decades later, she proudly calls the United States her home.

Brian’s journey was rooted in the heartland. A true Midwesterner by birth, he spent four decades dedicated to healthcare, offering care and comfort to countless individuals. Like Jennifer, Brian moved to Colorado in his thirties—drawn perhaps by the same pull toward nature, space, and stillness. It was there that he and Jennifer met later in life. They married in 2018, blending not only their lives but also their families. Between them, they share four children, four grandsons, and a lovable goldendoodle named Ollie.

Their story might have taken a quieter turn at that point, a well-earned retirement filled with relaxation. But life had other ideas. During the pandemic lockdowns of 2020, like so many others, Brian and Jennifer found themselves reevaluating what truly mattered. Already passionate gardeners, they began to dream bigger. What if they could grow something meaningful, something beautiful, something useful? The answer was lavender.
Lavender, with its calming scent and centuries-old medicinal and therapeutic benefits, seemed like the perfect crop. But choosing lavender wasn’t just about beauty or fragrance—it was a deliberate decision. They dove into research, studied soil conditions, climate compatibility, and varietals. It wasn’t enough to plant lavender; they wanted to do it right.

After an extensive search, they found exactly what they were looking for in Wisconsin—a gentle piece of land with the right drainage and sunshine to support the finicky crop. Dewdrop Farm was born in 2021 with a single acre of carefully cultivated soil and just under 2,000 lavender plants, spanning more than eight varieties.
Why just one acre? Because at Dewdrop Farm, everything is done the old-fashioned way: by hand. Every plant is lovingly placed, nurtured, weeded, watered, and harvested without chemicals or pesticides. During peak harvest in June and July, family members roll up their sleeves to help snip, bundle, and process the thousands of lavender stems by hand. It’s a labor-intensive process that yields something pure, fragrant, and deeply rewarding.
From the very beginning, Brian and Jennifer have stayed true to their values: sustainability, simplicity, and connection—with the land, with each other, and with the people who use their products. Their seasonal lifestyle—spending summers farming lavender in Wisconsin and winters enjoying the rugged beauty of Colorado—is unconventional, but it suits them perfectly.

Dewdrop Farm isn’t just a business. It’s a love story. A story of two people who found each other in the second half of life and chose to create something extraordinary together. A story of risk-taking, reinvention, and the healing power of nature.

Today, visitors to Dewdrop Farm experience more than the visual beauty of rows upon rows of lavender. They experience the passion, the purpose, and the personal touch behind every stem. Every product they create—from dried bouquets to essential oils and beyond—is a reflection of their hands-on commitment and deep respect for the earth.

As Brian and Jennifer continue to grow their dream, their hope is that Dewdrop Farm becomes a place of peace, inspiration, and aromatic joy for everyone who discovers it. Whether it’s a simple sachet or a summer stroll through their fields, what they offer is more than lavender—it’s a breath of calm in a busy world.
And it all began with a dream, a seed, and a slice of lavender heaven.
